As Americans, just how can we justify moving a fracking pipeline away from Bismarck because it has been assessed that the pipeline would pose a threat to the drinking water there – and propose instead to have the pipeline within a half mile of Tribal Lands?

As you know the historic flooding that is happening in Louisiana, where parts of the state received 30 inches of rain within 3 days, has left nearly 30,000 people needing rescue, over 12,000 are in shelters, several have died and in many locations flood waters continue to rise. Sadly this event is just one in a string of major disasters over the past 12 months including but not limited to historic flooding in South Carolina, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma and now again in Louisiana. We are asking donations be directed to the Emergency USA fund.

Oh my, how nearly four decades ago this dark memory jumps back into my mind. Harvey Milk, serving on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, was in his downtown office doing his usual business. When a former political colleague innocently walked in, shot and killed Harvey Milk. Next this “colleague” went to the Mayor’s office and assassinated George Moscone. This all happened in 1978. Recall?
